About

JULIE LEVESQUE

Julie Levesque is a chromaphobic sculptor/multi-media artist working in the Boston area. Her art is concept driven but she prefers to work in all white. Working in monotone lends a serenity and a quiet power to her work that brings all elements together in a unifying visual – slowly releasing details with patient, close inspection.

In 2001 Levesque took 1st prize in the Provincetown Art Association and Museum’s Annual Invitational Exhibition. As a result, she was offered a solo exhibition in a large museum gallery. ‘What Remains…’ was created for that space.

She is a past winner of the prestigious Massachusetts Cultural Council Individual Artists Grant as well as a recipient of the Artist’s Trust Grant from the Berkshire/Tatonic Fund.

Her work is included in the collections of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, DeCordova Museum, Danforth Museum, 21C Museums and and has been exhibited widely. She is represented by Rice Polak Gallery in Provincetown, MA.

INQUIRE ABOUT EXHIBITING ‘WHAT REMAINS…’
We are actively seeking exibition space for this art installation. We feel that it has a strong impact and speaks to the controversies swirling around elementary education at this time. It is our belief that presenting this work in a public venue (museum, foundation, art fair, college or school gallery or visible vacant commercial space) will open a dialogue that will benefit all. Please send all inquiries to The Japour Family Collection.
